Yellow Magic Orchestra - Technodelic (1981)

"Yellow Magic Orchestra" were a Japanese electropop band, formed in 1978.
Making abundant use of synthesizers, samplers, digital and computer recording technology as it became available, their popularity and influence extended beyond Japan. Generally the band are highly regarded as pioneers of electronic music, and continue to be remixed and sampled by modern artists.
The band split in 1984 but all the members are working in different projects and "Yellow Magic Orchestra" was reunited on several occasions.
This "Technodelic" is the fifth studio album, a very experimental work with a heavy use of samplers which can occasionally lead to an intricate assembly of arrangements. For me, they have have a very close parallel to Nina Hagen.
Highly recommended
